Overview
Ever wondered how skyscrapers like The Shard get built? It takes a heroic effort across a huge team of designers, builders, and managers to name a few. But we know that the process isn’t ideal - 69% of projects run more than 10% over budget and 75% are completed significantly late. Disperse is overcoming these challenges by putting digital tools in the hands of the construction industry. We use AI and computer vision to revolutionise the way buildings are built around the world. Over the past year, our four offices (London (HQ), New York, Sarajevo, and Yerevan) have joined forces to build a product and service that our customers love. Having just raised a Series A funding round, we’re kickstarting a new stage of global growth and are looking to build a team to help drive the next phase of our journey. Come join Disperse a creative, conscientious, and proudly diverse community of AI researchers, software engineers, architects, and designers dedicated to helping build the skylines of tomorrow Your Role We’re looking for someone to support our Business Development team, specifically working with our most important customers - those that we see the potential to scale hugely with and support long-term on their digital transformations. Over the past 18 months we’ve managed to establish pilot programs and move out of them to roll out across multiple projects with a project-by-project sales model at some of the largest, most forward-thinking Real-Estate Developers and Contractors in the U.K. and US. For this next stage of our growth journey we need to build on this momentum and our learnings to establish deep, enterprise-level partnerships and move from a value-add partner to becoming the core platform with which our customers manage and deliver construction projects at scale across their entire portfolios. Your role will involve working closely with key stakeholders in our customer organisations, providing thought leadership in their visions and roadmaps, building strong trust-based relationships, and helping them succeed in their mission to improve how they build. You will also be responsible for making the case for Disperse scaling within these organisations - both the financial case in Return of Investment calculations, and the non-financial elements of the value proposition for different customer organisations, including contractors, developers and financers. We are a scale-up, which means what you do day to day will change. We value versatile and entrepreneurial candidates who thrive wearing multiple hats and seek out opportunities to build and improve outcomes, processes and ways of working. Within the customer team we work closely with the Product team informing and guiding the development roadmap, the Project Delivery team supporting project kick-offs, the Customer experience team supporting customer success and the Proposals team contributing to the pitch. A candidate who is empathetic to the needs and workload of others, a clear communicator and supportive team player. If you’re eager to learn and aren’t afraid to dive straight into new challenges, then this role is a great opportunity to grow and develop a multidisciplinary skill-set as part of a world-class team. Some of the work that you might be doing includes: Grow strong, trust-based relationships with our senior stakeholders at our biggest customers to establish us an advisor and thought-partner on their digital productivity journey. Understand their strategic priorities, what keeps them up at night, and what their vision for the future of the industry is, or help them formulate it, and position ourselves firmly in the centre Make the case for scaling within our strategic accounts, moving from our first proof of value project, to multiple projects and becoming the de facto solution across the full portfolio. Develop our Enterprise proposition; how we can truly move the needle at an organisational level for our customers and champions Build out a scalable, repeatable model and structure for growing strategic accounts, making this happen over and over again Develop Enterprise pricing model, testing and constantly reevaluating how we structure our pricing to match the impact we make and the growth we want to achieve. Build a clear perspective and framework for informing the prioritisation of our product roadmap in tandem with the priorities, technologies and initiatives our largest customers are driving, with a clear bias towards generating holistic value vs vanity tech. Prioritise, co-design and manage new feature experiments across customer accounts to ensure we are moving in the right direction on a customer account and product-level. Operationalise the collaboration and ways of working across Business Development, Marketing and Customer Experience functions to achieve our growth targets Support the business development team in developing pitches and communicating our value proposition to prospective and existing customers Support the pricing team in analysing prospective projects and preparing quotes Form and uphold the culture of the company and the personal development of the Strategic Partnership team members Requirements You should apply if: You have worked for 2 years as a business consultant at a top-tier firm You are a structured thinker and problem-solver You’re an excellent written and verbal communicator with a knack for always finding the right tone You are personable, and genuinely care about helping others succeed, both within our customer organisations and within our own teams You enjoy telling stories to guide customer’s thinking, both in person and through decks You think analytically: you love working with data, extracting insights to make strong business cases and have experience in building well-structured and neat models in MS Excel (or equivalent software) You are solution-oriented: you don’t accept the status quo and are always looking for ways to make things better You’re a lifelong learner who picks up new skills and information quickly You’re organised and methodical with a keen attention to detail You’re ambitious and passionate about creating something meaningful You’re a highly motivated ‘self-starter’ You have an excellent track record of academic achievement Be based in London, U.K. In addition, it is useful but not essential, if: You have previous experience in the construction industry, either U.K. or internationally You have previous experience in a startup environment You speak a foreign language: french, chinese or japanese in particular Benefits You will learn about all areas of the business and will be expected to contribute in every area, as we all do. Working alongside our founding team, you will have a lot of ownership from day one, and will experience firsthand what it takes to scale up an AI startup. You will receive regular mentoring from different members of the team to make your experience at Disperse the best it can be.
