Job Description

You must be able to: * * To perform and independently report the following ultrasound examinations; obstetric including gynaecological (TA and TV) early pregnancy, abdominal, small parts and vascular including complex Doppler techniques. * To be aware of new techniques and practices in medical ultrasound and to implement them wherever possible. * To communicate the outcome of scans to the patient (and clinicians) when appropriate, referring to a Radiologist/Fetal medicine Consultant if further investigations are required in accordance to department protocol. * Following the scan provide appropriate support to patients and advise them to return to the referring clinician for the report. * Issue a report on Astraia or digital dictation software, ensuring that those patients requiring urgent attention are prioritised in accordance with department protocol. * To liaise and communicate effectively with other staff involved in patient's care as appropriate. * To provide assistance and information to patients, visitors and staff when required. * To respond to complaints from patients, relatives or staff, resolving them where possible or referring them on to the appropriate person. * To assess, plan and implement agreed standards of care and working practices, taking appropriate action as necessary to ensure quality objectives are met and codes of practice adhered to. During this pandemic we are fastracking our recruitment process but will still require: * Proof of Right to Work in the UK * An Enhanced DBS * Occupational Health Clearance * Essential Requirements * Qualifications * Degree level qualification or equivalent . * Post graduate specialist diploma in medical ultrasound * Desirable Requirements * ECDL * HPC registration * Experience * 3 years post-graduate experience * Audit * CPD To apply for this role please complete the application box below and attach your CV.
