EXITING AND UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY WITH RAPID RESPONSE WALTHAM FOREST 9 MONTHS SECONDMENT/FIXED TERM CONTRACT into URGENT and UNPLANNED COMMUNITY PRACTICE Band 5 Rapid Response Nurse/paramedic Come and work for Rapid Response Waltham Forest. The opportunity for a 9 month fixed term contract or secondment into this established and progressive team will give you a chance to try something new within a supportive and nurturing team. The team sees patients with a variety of urgent and unplanned needs, from acute complex medical problems to sore toes. We provide a community IV service, support GP home visits, ambulance crews, carers, care homes and patients and relatives all on direct telephone referral. You will be helped to become expert in managing the unexpected, and learn to enjoy the daily variety. You will be working with a diverse community enabling you to develop knowledge and skills around differing cultural perspectives. We work across Waltham Forest . Our patients are over the age of 18 with a predominant physical nursing need.( Please note that this is not a position within a Community Mental Health team). Rapid Response is offering the right candidate an excellent opportunity for career development by learning new transferable skills and preparing you for working in other specialist teams in the community setting. We will support you continued learning and facilitate access to ongoing education as relevant to you and the service. The 9 months secondment is offered on a full-time basis, and will involve shift work over 7 days per week. Shift are 9.30 hrs requiring 4 shifts per week. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). Assessment/Interview info At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. If you are shortlisted, invited for interview and successfully offered the post, you will be required to undertake an assessment for these skills during the pre-employment checks. Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex High Cost Area Supplement - London This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of 3,784 to a maximum of 4,822).
