About you: The Children and Young People's Integrated Therapies (CYPIT) service within Berkshire provides an integrated approach to supporting children and young people with a range of difficulties that benefit from, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language therapy. We are currently looking for a keen, enthusiastic individual with a special interest in supporting children and young people with a physical difficulty who may also have an associated learning difficulty to facilitate their development, ability to learn and participate in general school life and the wider community. All CYPIT staff are expected to have an understanding of the component therapies involved in supporting individual children and young people and will have the opportunity to develop skills across the therapy services. Integrated Therapy Assistants are key members of the CYPIT team providing essential support to enable our service to deliver a high quality therapy provision to Children and Young People in Berkshire. As an Integrated Therapies Assistant you will be expected to:. * To carry out a range of work tasks and interventions independently under the direction of a CYPIT Therapist (with and/or without direct supervision). * To contribute to and deliver support and training to schools, parents and carers as part of service delivery. * Be responsible for a specific defined workload as agreed with your allocated supervisor. This will involve planning, organising and documenting of key activities, as well as supporting any project work or service development. * Be responsible for specific defined tasks, which support the service provided by the therapy team. This will include contributing to the assessment as well as provision of direct therapy and training. CYPIT Integrated Therapies Assistants are supporting practitioners in their area of practice, receiving supervision from the wider, more experienced therapy workforce. They will contribute to the adoption of the Care Aims care planning approach, and are fundamental in supporting our integrated therapy model. The post holder will have a responsibility to access CPD, clinical audit, and in-service training within the specialist area, and may be asked to initiate and lead on some areas of service development.
