Job Description: We are currently looking for a new Specialist Software Developer to join our 3M|M*Modal Health Care Business in the UK . Role Location - role covers the whole of the UK Candidate location - flexible within the UK dependent on candidate suitability Travel - Willing to travel within the UK on a reasonably regular basis. Overall Mission Lead a team of developers to deliver programs of major importance to the organization's interests leading to and/or supporting innovative applications and extensions of new and existing technologies, products and/or businesses. Job Responsibilities * Technical Contributions. * Identifies, plans, recommends, and completes major technical programs leading to innovative applications and extensions of existing and new technologies. * Consistently applies innovative and advanced technical skills to provide support and services to expand opportunities, reduce risks, and generate revenue * Maintains a flow of major technical contributions in areas of technical expertise. Recommends and develops solutions for technical and product problems. * Interactions. Develop a network of support to facilitate completion of programs. May guide interactions with customers to better understand customer relations, customer's processes, and applications. * Leadership. Assumes leadership role for technical programs of importance within the organization. Leads and supervises a UK-based development team. * Intellectual Property. May review and/or generate intellectual property positions at the business level, including proprietary advances. patents, trade secrets, etc. * Communication. Communicates results of assigned and self-initiated technical tasks to the business group and/or appropriate technical community. * Strategic Planning. Understanding of market and technology trends and demonstration of advanced knowledge, skills, abilities to participate in technical strategic planning at the division level, including ownership of the development pipeline. * Commercial Impact. Proven and sustained ability to generate and lead new research and development programs having significant commercial impact. * Corporate Initiatives. Leads application of key corporate initiatives and appropriate tools.
