What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for? We need someone who can lead A/V Operations for our conferencing rooms and audiovisual systems in EMEA as well as to provide executive events support. You will need to manage in matrix environment a team of remote A/V support engineers, aiming to establish common processes, practices and documentation in A/V proactive and reactive support. Along with ensuring seamless and steady operations, you will be collaborating with A/V Engineering, Networking and Device Deployment teams to be on top of all new design, technologies and upgrades in our audiovisual systems as well as to resolve and prevent ongoing technical issues. Managing our A/V Break & Fix vendor and travelling to remote offices to support major changes will be part of the role. What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? * Establish, document and adhere to A/V EMEA Operations Runbook, outlining key process flows for room support, maintenance and escalations management, both through internal and external (third-party) vendors and manufacturers. * Maintain full and consistent room inventory tracking, including room equipment, IP schedules, critical spares stocks as well as common room fault tracking and key events calendar. * Manage day-to-day engagement with regional A/V Break & Fix vendor and coordinate scope of work both internally and externally. * Be primary responsible for A/V EMEA tickets and incidents management. * Support the organization and execution of key regional events What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Most of your time will be spent in ensuring conference rooms across EMEA are fit for use on daily basis. This will require you to perform active room technical checks in your primary location as well as to coordinate the same to be done via other internal employees in remote offices. You will be monitoring event and error logs and will be responding to real-time technical problems to troubleshoot and resolve them. This primary job function will require your presence in our VMware office in Staines, UK. You will collaborate with A/V, on-site technical support personnel and facilities stakeholders to ensure rooms are in working condition. You will be the focal point to coordinate third-party vendors and VMware stakeholders for activities related to regular preventative maintenance, faults logging and resolutions and warranty repairs. In addition, you are expected to continually educate CET Colleague Support Team personnel into A/V industry best practices as well as VMware internal A/V engineering and design standards. Finally, you will be coordinating and supporting key regional events by coordinating Business and third-party production vendors for the smooth events delivery. What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? This role will be reporting to the Colleague Support Manager for Central and Southern EMEA, based in our biggest VMware office in Sofia, Bulgaria. You will also have a matrix manager based in Staines, UK, to give support and guidance on executives and events support. Your A/V operation engineers will be also based in Sofia, Bulgaria and will assist you in the remote locations A/V support.
