Technical Lead - Networks and Security
Overview
Job Description
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the leading teaching hospitals in the country, providing a local and tertiary service to Sussex, working over two main sites in Brighton and Haywards Heath. The IT Function is transforming in support of the wider Trust Transformation Programme. Up until recently the IT planning horizon has been relatively short and within IT design is siloed into the disciplines of Information, Applications and Technology. The Trust is making significant long term investments in both its facilities (3T's) and its approach to Patient Care (Patient First) and this requires support by IT. This is a highly technical role and the candidate is expected to not only lead on the design of the networks but also to embed that design, ways of working and culture into the operational teams. The role will have a broad understanding of the market place, the future technology directions and the supplier base. The post holder will provide the vision to maintain and expand the Trust's IT network infrastructure. Collaborative working with the Head of Infrastructure, Applications and Development will be key to the success of this role. The role will be expected to engage at a senior level both inside and external to the Trust. This is a pivotal role and will require tenacity, commitment, honesty and humility with a drive to make the change by demonstrating leadership and technical knowledge and best practice. After the closing date we will review the applications and then hold short telephone interviews for those candidates who have been shortlisted. Those who are successful at this stage will be asked to attend a selection panel.
