Works will include installing a new ducted infrastructure system, installing overhead electronic signs and central barrier replacement work. The M1 J13-16 SM ALR delivery team is expanding to accommodate additional workload generated by an early extension of the scheme from junction 15 to junction 16 (a further 20km of open work site). We are looking for a high calibre Senior Agent with a proven track record of delivering challenging infrastructure schemes to join our existing team. The Smart Motorway Programme will be a mainstay of Costain Highways Sector workload for the next 10 years following the successful award of the Smart Motorway Alliance in April. This is a great opportunity to gain experience of the exciting and dynamic projects the Alliance has to offer. The role on the M1 J13-16 SM ALR scheme will include a variety of different disciplines including earthworks, piling, FRC, drainage, pavements, structural steelwork and vehicle restraint systems. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Package management of major subcontracts up to a value of 30m * NEC contract administration to client and supply chain (SI, EWNs, GCs, TQs and defects) * Accountability for formulating and delivering the strategic medium-term programme * Drive team contribution to the collaborative planning and production control process * Ensure team provide programme outputs as required by the project planning process * Co-ordination of designers, multiple contractors and other stakeholders * Oversight & management of design change and technical issues impacting the strategic plan * Ensuring all works are constructed in accordance with the works information * Strict cost control of packages under your control through liaison with the commercial team * Management of the team to ensure adherence to quality processes including ITPs, MARs, etc * Managing the strict adherence of project SHE processes * Management of a team of up to 20 engineering staff You'll be a welcomed member of the wider team, with opportunities to take on additional responsibility, join one of our networks for women, military or LGBT+ staff, and participate in cultural and social events with the local community (e.g. as a STEM ambassador).
