To help deliver our 2030 Strategy, we are now looking to recruit a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Programming to join our Games Academy. The successful applicant will be an inspiring and engaging educator who can help students across our Computing, Game Development, and Game Art provision, with a particular focus on digital games technology. You will be someone who has expertise in computing and/or the technology used in game development, but who will be comfortable working with diverse teams formed of students from many different disciplines including art, animation, audio, design, programming, and writing to implement development pipelines using industry-standard tools. You will be working closely with students to help them make games using the Unity and/or Unreal engine(s) across one-on-one tutorials, small group supervisions, critiques, large lectures and workshops, and events. It is anticipated this role will include the leadership of at least four modules which could span multiple courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the Games Academy. Potential modules include 'Development Practice', 'Multidisciplinary Development Practice', 'Group Game Development Project', 'Research & Development', and/or 'Major Project'. The role will also involve personal tutoring and contributions to our Transdisciplinary Group Working Strategy. Candidates from an industry background are welcome to apply. You should be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate equivalent and extensive work based learning in a relevant environment. All Lecturers are expected to engage in research and innovation, defining an individual research and innovation plan which is anticipated to align with one or more of our research programmes.
