We're looking for a highly experienced and highly skilled artworker to run Superunion's production capability both for our corporate reporting clients and our wider agency needs. This role will be ideal for an experienced Production Manager, looking to take a step up to the next level. The biggest and most challenging aspect of this role will be leading the production services we offer our corporate reporting clients. Superunion has a world-class portfolio of ambitious corporate reporting clients, so it is critical that you have proven experience in managing a production capability to deliver corporate reports (including annual reports, sustainability reports, interims and special reporting publications) to an exemplary standard. You will take full responsibility for organising and facilitating the resourcing and utilisation of the production department, collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver the best solutions for clients and instilling confidence in a robust, but flexible operation; developing and facilitating effective multi-channel workstreams and advancing new technology offers. Your main responsibilities Production resourcing * Act as the first point of contact for Production inquiries to scope, plan and deliver artwork through the studio, and monitor and manage production work ensuring tasks are resourced accurately and efficiently * Understand the skills, resources and timings required to deliver a piece of work and help manage client expectations * Work closely with Resourcing and Client Services to assign extra resource when needed to ensure delivery targets are met, and manage hiring for all perm, contract and freelance production resource. Studio management * Be an experienced go-to person, who is technically strong and up to date with the latest technology, able to anticipate likely issues before they arise * Ensure the relevant production briefing information is in place covering job numbers, deliverables contextual information, print and/or technical specs, deadlines and contacts * Attend creative briefings and advise on quality, time and costs associated with Artwork production * Maintain exemplary document management, version control and audit trail procedures * During the reporting season, host a weekly Production stand-up to gain insight into the day or week's pinch points and deadlines * Line manage the permanent Production team and any freelance support, including annual performance reviews, goal setting and personal development * Set up and oversee Remote editing projects and be an active support service to clients using these systems. Integrated workflow management * Help develop production workstreams, as new technologies develop. * Identify required skillsets, map out and manage training programs for the team * Identify opportunities and learnings from each project undertaken and apply these to continually improve production efficiencies. Artwork review and support * Review of artworking completed within the studio at regular intervals to ensure that work is being completed to the highest standard * Troubleshooting of any queries or issues encountered by the artworking team * Outside of the peak reporting season, you also be required to perform artworking duties, although this will on an ad-hoc basis. Your skills Expert Communicator * An excellent communicator with a helpful, 'can-do' attitude, resulting in strong relationships built on trust and confidence * Expert at managing expectations with all stakeholders, keeping them updated on delivery matters. * A strong network of contacts in the freelance community, and be able to attract the highest quality talent. * Ability to remain calm and clear-headed whilst working to tight deadlines and resolving competing resource requests Technical leader * Expert level of competency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat).
