Part Portfolio Manager, part Investment Advisor, your role will be to source, screen, invest in and incubate start-ups in emerging markets. If you can think like an investor and an entrepreneur, we'll trust you to make decisions and move fast on investments; something few Foundations can offer. Reporting to our Business Development Manager, you'll be managing relationships with funders (including restricted donors like USAID and DFID) and implementing growth plans for different energy and mobility related projects. You would also feed into our China strategy for Africa and think through complex supply chains in the process. Travel is a key aspect of the role and you can expect to be travelling for 90 days per year. Work Location: London - Shell Centre Requirements: What we need from you We are looking for individuals who have a business background- coupled with a strong degree and an MBA. You will need experience of in one of the focus sectors, energy, agriculture or transportation. More specifically we are looking for the following skillsets to match the criteria of the role: + Language skills - Fluent in English and proficient in Mandarin (including certification) + Master in Business Administration (MBA) + Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) + Significant relevant experience in strategy, finance and/or consulting + Previous experience investing in and growing early stage companies in mobility and energy including co-creating ideas + Experience in designing accelerator programmes in developing markets + Track record in sourcing and managing investment portfolios in East Africa and/or India + Experience in the design, development and implementation of new fundraising strategies with demonstrated results + Experience and knowledge in Chinese supply chains and investment landscape + Knowledge and networks in electric vehicle innovations and new mobility solutions in an urban setting + Thought leader in urban mobility innovation and policy engagement in developing markets + Ability to manage multiple stakeholders from the private and public sector + Strong network in investor and international development ecosystem + Experience in completing due diligence and market landscaping work + Experience in advising and mentoring executive level and Boards in early stage organisations Y
