Job Description

The IT Infra Regional Infrastructure Manager (for the UK and Ireland) is responsible for maintaining business in the regional laboratories in the UK and Ireland (potential expansion in the near future possible). It will be done in collaboration with other IT teams and according to defined processes (e.g. Incident Management and Change Management). 1) Manage delivery of IT Infrastructure & operations services for Eurofins UK and IE which includes (but not limited to) operating regional Data Centre rooms, hosting regional business applications and managing Local IT Service desk & end users support. 2) Manage IT integration projects supporting the growth of UK / IE business. 3) Liaise with UK and IE business leadership to identify, translate & deliver IT Infra services to meet business demands. 4) Lead a set of IT Infra professionals working in the UK and IE to help deliver business needs; provide career guidance & keep a motivated workforce. 5) Manage cost effectiveness of the IT Infrastructure, IT Systems and IT Services under their responsibility; 6) Ensure that the defined processes (e.g. Incident Management and Change Management) are well applied; 7) Ensure that new processes like Problem and Capacity Management are well introduced. 8) Work with Eurofins M&A team with IT due diligence as and when required; 9) Automate standard tasks; 10) Innovation is crucial to every company. Ensure the team is not thinking in standards only but is open to new ideas / procedures; 11) Work with the global IT Infrastructure team on global initiatives; 12) Direct cooperation with the Continental IT Infrastructure and Operations Director on strategic topics: a. Global rollout of new standards / procedures; b. "Infrastructure in a box (Standard-hardware and configuration for every lab)"; c. Global rollout of a standardised backup solution; d. Automation of KPIs / SLAs and reporting; e. Global projects to achieve cost savings; f. Innovation and automation; g. Support global team on crucial hiring activities for strategic positions; h. Projects to enable the business and create more value for the business. SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS : IT Operations * a. Directly responsible of operation of selected business critical applications of Eurofins mostly hosted in EHAD - Hamburg- and in UK and Ireland. * b. Regular contact with the local Business Unit Managers and Manager Directors to foster advance in their business; * c. Monitor the capacity and availability of IT Services; * d. Make sure that critical changes on IT Services are implemented in a smooth and controlled manner (e.g. Change Management, release procedure and monitoring criteria). Team Management * Empower people to contribute to performance of IT Infra Regional Operations team; * Define and assign goals to the team. Control goals achievement through regular meetings and implement the necessary actions if results are not in line with given objective; * Manage the team ensuring all HR procedures are applied both with respect of the local regulations on work law and of the Eurofins internal rules; * Define and publish KPIs on a regular basis and monitoring the effectiveness of the teams. Other assignment * Participate in the design of Eurofins standards and policies regarding IT Infrastructure services concerning operation; * Together with peers, participate to the definition of Eurofins standards and policies; * Liaise with other IT teams to design new IT Services. * Ensure that Eurofins standards and policies are respected; * Implement changes according to Eurofins standards and policies; * Make sure that Eurofins standards correctly implemented and followed by his/her own team as well as by each customer supported. Cost Control, Budget & Contract Management * Take full ownership Elaborate IT Infrastructure budget and ensure it is followed together with the Regional Infrastructure Manager. Qualifications: REQUIRED PROFILE Initial Educational background: Master's degree preferably in Computing Science (and additional other domain) and at least 5 - 7 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Project Management experience and track record is required. Leadership track record (of also dispersed) teams is a must. Type and duration of previous experience: Project management experience is required; Project and administration documentation writing; People management (of relevant size of team as well as dispersed teams; working in a matrix). Technical knowledge: Strong Microsoft products background knowledge; Network knowledge and (supervision of) troubleshooting skills (LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS); Server installation, administration and monitoring; SAN and virtualization technologies in a data centre context. Management capabilities: Project Management skills; People management skills (see above). Personal Qualities: Very good communication and interpersonal relation skills in an international environment; Must produce high quality documentation;
