The opportunity Be a part of our project management consultancy business that spans our five global hubs, where you can oversee work for world leading organisations across the public and private sectors. The category manager is required to support Mace's role as a member of the Paragon consortium which acts as the commercial delivery partner for defence, equipment and support (DE&S), part of the Ministry of Defence. The category managers will work as part of team comprised of Mace and its Paragon partners, working alongside DE&S permanent staff. About you * With a relevant degree qualification. * With MCIPS. * Minimum 10 years' experience in category management. * Proven track record of evaluating spend and engaging with business stakeholders to realise significant savings. * Working in defence, and in particular the following categories of spend communications, uniform and armour and/or general equipment is desirable. * Strong influencing and persuasion skills. About you * With APM or recognised PM certificate. * Previous experience in a similar role. * Major project and major development experience. * Experience working in rail and leading project management teams. * Experience in reporting to senior level and client partners. * Strong knowledge and appreciation of health and safety. * Ability to make decisions and proceed with confidence. * Excellent organisational skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
