Job Description

We are seeking a highly-skilled, motivated and experienced Registered Manager for a lovely spacious children's home in Canvey Island. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of running the Home, for medium to long-term planned placements while ensuring young people are supported and prepared to move on to independent living. The aim's of the home are to ensure a safe, homely and therapeutic environment for vulnerable young people. Registered Manager Duties and Responsibilities: * Supervise and offer constructive feedback and be involved in the assessment and supervision of staff * Advise on policies and procedures to reflect the aims and objectives of the Home * Ensure that services are delivered according to the Statement of Purpose for the Home * Access the development needs of residents and to monitor and improve the Home's care plan and practices for each young person * To generate an open and supportive atmosphere within the Home between staff members and between staff and residents * To ensure the Home is physically safe and to provide a good quality environment for the children * To create and develop links between the community and the Home to enable children to participate fully in the life of the community * To ensure children and staff are aware of all the procedures relating to complaints and concerns * Recruit, train and develop staff to meet the objectives of the Home * Manage and operate budgets within the agreed guidelines for the Home * Ensure the assessed needs of young people in the Home are met on a day-to-day basis * Contribute effectively to each child's placement plan review and looked after child review * Ensure that there is a comprehensive plan for young people preparing to leave care Requirements * Hold a level 5 Diploma in Leadership and management for Residential Childcare or equivalent * Within the past five years, spent at least two years in a position relevant to the residential care of children * Worked for at least one year in a role requiring supervision and management of staff working in a care role * Have sound knowledge of the Children's homes regulation and quality standards England 2015 Benefits Closing date: Tuesday 5th November 2019 Interview: ASAP Contact: Amandeep at Job Paths 4 U Job Paths 4 U is an Employment Agency and an Employment Business.
