Job Description
Job Summary This role is based in our UK division, which is near J6 of the M5 Worcester. We are looking for a commercially minded buyer to work as part of the materials team and interact with suppliers, globally. You will be responsible for creating purchase orders and monitoring delivery and shipment dates as well as working as part of the team to ensure our product is provided to the customer on time. Responsibilities of the Buyer: * Manage a portfolio of vendors taking responsibility for Vendor Performance * Run strategic Sourcing projects to deliver cost reductions to the business required. * Maintain purchase order data * Enter and maintain shipments/delivery dates * Communicate any delays * Maintain business systems data * Assist in managing weekly order status reporting * Review and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies * Replenish materials for the plant * Support stock take activities Requirements of the Buyer: * Good knowledge of supply chain management in a manufacturing environment * Good negotiation skills and the ability to work strategically * Supply chain experience * SAP/ERP user experience would be a major advantage * Educated to degree level, or comparable vocational qualifications/job based training * Experience in supply chain management for a manufacturing operation Headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, SPX Cooling Technologies, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of cooling towers, evaporative fluid coolers, evaporative condensers and air cooled heat exchangers providing full-service cooling solutions and support to customers in the power generation, petrochemical, industrial, refrigeration, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) markets for more than 100 years.
