Edvance UK is the UK branch of Edvance SAS and is currently dedicated to the design of BNI for Hinkley Point C (and preparations for Sizewell C). We are based in a newly refurbished, modern office on Aztec West in Bristol. There are over 300 of us here and we're proud that it can feel like a big multi-cultural family - we have 40 different nationalities. EDVANCE is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C projects. NNB GenCo Ltd plans to build a twin UK EPR unit power station at the Sizewell C site in Suffolk. SZC Co's objective is to deliver an EPR project, safely, efficiently, right first time, with Nuclear Safety being the overriding priority. The project needs to secure and demonstrate value for money for consumers through a very strong management of the copy of Hinkley Point C nuclear power station. The SZC strategy is based on a very strong replication of the design built at HPC. This is aligned to the overall project strategy to maximize the opportunity to derive value from a 'Next of a Kind' series effect, duplicating the Hinkley Point C detailed design and adopting a systematic approach to capturing, quantifying and applying lessons learned to SZC. As part of the Responsible Designer for the Sizewell C EPR project, Edvance provides Engineering Design support for the Balance of Nuclear Island (BNI). The BNI design is currently split between the office in Paris and in Bristol and Paris have taken the lead on replication studies that have been undertaken to date.
