You will drive the technical vision and implementation of solutions that enable us to rapidly experiment and scale to support other businesses such as IMDb TV. The Role We are looking for a dynamic leader to own, drive, and continuously improve Prime Video on Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Comcast, Playstation and Xbox. You will set the technical vision, oversee multiple teams based in two or more locations, build a high performing culture and act as the thought leader for your areas. The right candidate will possess a well-rounded engineering background. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment. You must not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. You must be able to support your team in anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, anticipating and making tradeoffs, and balancing the business needs versus technical constraints. You will be a leader of leaders. You will manage a cross-functional organization including several software development teams inclusive of quality and technical program management . You will work with people from various disciplines across Prime Video and beyond, including product management, business development, marketing, accessibilty, playback, security and UX design. You will be responsible for creating the right organizational structure for your area, hiring and developing senior talent in your organization and developing a culture of fast-paced innovation and delivery. You will have a deep impact on the product direction and will also be a part of the larger technical leadership community at Amazon. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role. Specifically, you will: 1. Define a multi-year vision and tech strategy to needs of various device platforms we support. 2. Evaluate technology and platform choices while balancing between time to market, cost, scale, and customer experience. 3. Hire and develop high performing teams; develop a culture of innovation, experimentation and iterative development. 4. Manage technical operations and collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to deliver projects on schedule. 5. Evangelize technical vision among the many Amazon teams involved to achieve your organization's goals, and influence them to deliver on the specific capabilities required Our roadmap includes big tech bets such as rebuilding the entire app for several platforms; launching new devices such as PlayStation 5; building features to drive engagement, such as integrations with partner UIs; and investments in infrastructure and experimentation capabilities for a strong foundation to improve the customer experience in the future.
