We have an exciting opportunity at our Crisis service in Doncaster, where you will join our friendly and inspiring team as a Bank Mental Health Support Worker. Your role will be a bank position working as and when required, based in the service. You will need to be able to work flexibly as you will be working as part of a rota which can include evenings, nights and weekends. Our Crisis service is a CQC registered recovery service helping individuals in crisis in a safe and supportive environment. We can provide emotional and practical support to help individuals get back on their feet for a period of up to 72 hours. Our support is person-centred recovery helping people to maximise their independence. Who are we? We're Rethink Mental Illness, a leading charity provider of mental health services in England. What will you be doing? You will be supporting someone to promote their recovery and independence, this can involve things like, * Self-management and the development of key skills to encourage continued health and wellbeing on discharge from the service and prevent future crises and admissions * Maintain extensive knowledge of and links with community resources including signposting to specialist services. * Priorities the individuals need, working to the recovery model to support them to work towards their identified goals * Working with other mental health professionals and the family/friends of the person Do you have what we are looking for? * Excellent communication * Able to work well within a team * Ability to use initiative Ideally, we would like you to have some experience and understanding of Mental Health and interventions however Support Work isn't all about qualifications.
