An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated registered mental health nurse to join the established Elderly Mental Health Liaison Service with NHS Ayrshire and Arran General Hospitals. As a registered Mental Health Nurse, on Part 3 of the NMC Register, you will provide a comprehensive Elderly Mental Health Liaison Service in General Hospitals for people with dementia of any age and people with other mental health problems over the age of 65 years. You will be an integral member of the Elderly Mental Health Liaison Team providing specialist mental health assessment, expert nursing advice, information and guidance to General Hospital staff, patients and carers. Applicants should be motivated, keen to further develop knowledge and skills within a liaison setting. Excellent Communication skills, well developed knowledge of assessment and appropriate interventions, ability to work on own and as part of a team are essential. You will be educated to degree level or have a relevant post graduate qualification and experience relevant to job purpose. The post will be based at Ailsa Hospital, however you would respond to referrals pan Ayrshire. A car owner/driver is essential.
