A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Departmental Secretary to join the Scottish Cochlear Implant Programme at University Hospital Crosshouse. The programme provides a cochlear implant service for hearing impaired adults and children from throughout Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a friendly, multidisciplinary team consisting of admin & clerical, rehabilitation, scientific, medical and support staff. You will be responsible for providing clerical, administrative and secretarial support. The main job remit is booking all outpatient appointments for the service through the use of a dedicated patient management system. Extensive experience of booking and managing appointments on a patient management system (or equivalent electronic system) is essential. You should be able to demonstrate evidence of highly developed organising skills, good concentration, a penchant for accuracy and have a proven track record for attention to detail. You will also be expected to provide audio typing (Winscribe) including medical terminology, respond to incoming telephone calls and provide general clerical and administrative support for a busy, multidisciplinary team. You should have a relevant secretarial qualification e.g. AMSPAR Diploma for Medical Secretaries, RSA or Scotvec qualification.
