Overview

Job Description

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is now the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre, caring for a population of 4.5million. Operating 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. Formed in 2006, we are now one of the biggest and busiest acute Trusts in England, employing 14,500 staff. We provide services to over 2.5 million residents of Nottingham and its surrounding communities. We also provide specialist services to a further 3-4 million people from neighbouring counties each year. As part of the planned development of our services we need to increase the number of NMC/HCPC registered band 5 Theatre practitioners to work in Emergency and Obstetric Theatres at the City Campus, Nottingham. Nottingham City hospital has two Emergency and Obstetric Theatres which perform elective and emergency surgery. It is a challenging environment that provides a service to patients with everything from minor procedures to complex surgeries. The Theatre department's reputation has continued to grow and provide excellent patient care. We have a fantastic clinical team, and our professional skills and positive team ethic were proudly shown on BBCs Hospital programme last Spring. If you have been inspired by the excellent skill and teamwork from Emergency and Obstetric Theatres and want to help us make positive changes to patients' lives, we invite you to apply. Theatre experience is desirable but not essential. We are happy to accept newly qualified members of staff, given that a specialist induction, and several weeks of being supernumerary to learn from our supportive team will be provided. We offer many opportunities for progression and development that include anaesthetic training for scrub practitioners, as well as in-house training and courses contributing to continue professional development. Interested candidates would be welcome to have an initial visit and informal discussion. We look forward to hearing from you.
