Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an 'energetic Deputy Manager' with a viewpoint to become a Registered Manager. The ideal candidate will be positive, enthusiastic and motivated with excellent leadership skills, who has a desire to make a difference to help young people develop skills to support and fulfil their life's ambitions. This role requires a high level of patience and understanding working with children and young people with emotional and challenging behaviours. Deputy Manager Duties and Responsibilities: * Attending and contributing to child care planning and review meetings as appropriate * Involvement in the recruitment and retention of staff * Assist the manager in developing a management style which balances the need to exercise control and give direction with the need to offer staff the opportunity to contribute to decision making * Ensuring that all new staff receive a proper induction to the Home in line with company policy * Ensuring that each member of staff has a supervision contract and receives supervision in line with National Minimum Standards * Attend senior staff and team meetings to facilitate communication and provide opportunities for consultation and staff development * Reporting and assisting the manager in resolving issues of staff motivation and morale * Promoting personal and professional development through the appropriate delegation of duties and responsibilities * Ensure that each young person has the required documentation that it is current, relevant and is updated as necessary Requirements * At least 1 year experience as a Deputy Manager (Desirable) * NVQ/QCF level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent qualification (or working towards) * Good understanding of Ofsted regulations * Experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting * Experience of supporting and leading staff Benefits Salary: 10.68 per hour 38 hours per week (shift pattern) Closing date: Thursday 17th October 2019 Interview: ASAP Contact: Amandeep at Job Paths 4 U Job Paths 4 U is an Employment Agency and an Employment Business.
