Overview

Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Children's Law Legal Assistant to join a great local authority based in the West Midlands. As a Children's Law Legal Assistant you will be able to thrive in a fast moving, high pressure environment with ever shifting priorities, and be able to work independently (as well as within the team) to ensure that deadlines are met in a smooth and efficient manner. The successful candidate will take on a varied workload, including, but not exclusive to: Liaising with the Family Court over directions Responsible for the maintenance of a case tracking system by recording the progress and directions on all current care cases Maintaining and recording key data from PLO/care cases Drafting witness statements and care plans Reviewing documents before submission to Legal Services Supporting social workers involved in PLO and care cases Attending court with solicitors Our client is seeking candidates who are from a legal background, such as law graduates who have experience in a private-practice setting but are interested in child care proceedings in the public sector. Some familiarity with the system would be preferable but not essential. This position is for 3-6 months initially, however, there is potential for the role continuing beyond that.
