Trainee Injection Moulding Operators (Apprenticeships)

We are looking to recruit a cohort of apprentices who will train to become high performing Plastic Injection Moulding Operators in our busy Mould-shop in Cannock. You will be supported by ourselves and our FE College provider partner in completion of the Level 2 Engineering Operative apprenticeship standard. You will play an active role in producing conforming product on time and in full for our customers. Apprentices can join the team over the summer this year to get a foot in the door, with a view to a September 2020 start on the apprenticeship programme. Job Summary: * You will be responsible for ensuring that parts are being produced to approved quality formats as set out by the Quality Department * You will perform hands on production and assembly functions including running machines and packing * You will be able to work safely and responsibly with adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental policies including our Covid-19 response measures * We expect you to report any non-conformities/quality concerns that you spot with any parts using our escalation procedure * We are a 5S factory and you should ensure that the work area is clean and tidy at all times * If you spot ideas for improvements we encourage you to put them forward Person Specification: You will have achieved 5 GCSEs including; English and Mathematics (Grade 4 or above) IT skills would be an advantage You will have a conscientious attitude to work and be able to demonstrate attention to detail We need a multi-tasker comfortable in a busy environment who is eager to learn and disciplined enough to complete the apprenticeship programme Hours: You will be employed to work 40 hours per week. You will be expected to work variable shifts depending on demand.
