Job Description

Lead Cancer Nurse Band 8A (provisional banding subject to confirmation) We are looking for an experienced and committed Lead Cancer Nurse to join our team. The successful applicant will play a strategic leadership role in developing Trust-wide high quality cancer specialist nursing services, in partnership with a wider team of health care professionals and cancer support workers. The Trust provides comprehensive cancer services across the three main sites as well as at peripheral locations and community settings. We have a well-supported Cancer Wellbeing Service which provides wellbeing, support and information services for anyone affected by cancer. We have developed excellent working relationships with Macmillan and other cancer charities. We are looking for an inspiring and high performing senior nurse who can: * Manage and lead a specialist service with responsibility for ensuring high quality, cost-effective healthcare or Manage and lead a workforce of specialist nurses (ie across a Division) * Be involved in the strategic review of clinical services as appropriate * Support and advise on the implementation of the national cancer agenda within the Locality supporting the NHS Long Term Plan * Be responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence based care.
