Job Description
Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead Full-time " 10 PA's per week £82,669 to £109,849 per annum (2019/20) This is a new post within the Argyll and Bute HSCP and is included in a major redesign of service that has seen the development of the community mental health teams throughout the area. The post is devoted to the further development of services for the elderly mentally unwell and offers an opportunity to work with a small group of committed clinicians who deliver an excellent standard of care. The post is for 10 programmed activities (sessions) per week (8.5:1.5 inpatient/outpatient functional and organic post) and the post holder will be welcomed into a friendly and forward thinking team of consultants where peer support is valued and protected. There will be an opportunity to develop an area wide functional clinic besides coordinating area wide dementia service delivery. One programmed activity per week adult liaison/old age liaison in Oban. Dementia clinics will be in Oban, Campbeltown and Lochgilphead. Participation in teaching will be possible. Junior support provided both for inpatients and liaison. Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register with a Licence to Practice or within 6 months of obtaining CCT at time of interview.
