When you join our UK Operations team as a Consultant Risk Engineer, you can leverage your engineering background to help clients mitigate potential disaster-saving property, businesses and lives. Responsibilities Our engineers do not spend their days behind a desk. They are out in the field, working at the some of the UK's largest industrial facilities to help prevent losses from fires, equipment breakdowns and natural hazards. You may find yourself evaluating a fire exposure at a pharmaceutical plant or a sprinkler system in a warehouse that will protect it from a major fire that could otherwise disrupt the total supply chain. You will also assist our clients by providing guidance on the risk engineering and construction of new sites or modifications of their existing sites. It's a hands-on job requiring high energy, self-motivation and creativity. Your career will start with a structured training programme including self-study, e-based assessment and mentoring. In your first twelve months you will undertake three practical courses at our training facilities in the US. You will soon find yourself working independently, travelling to client facilities to help solve complicated technical issues and generate risk improvement. Qualifications Successful candidates will have the following knowledge, skills, abilities and experience: + Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Engineering. + Two years plus industrial experience in an Engineering role. + Strong verbal and written communications skills. + Good analytical, organisational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills + Efficient time management with the ability to work with minimal supervision. + Solid technical aptitude including diverse knowledge of engineering principles. + Valid UK driver's license. + Proficiency in MS Office products. + The permanent right to live and work in the UK. The role is initially based at our Maidenhead Office during the first twelve months, however once the training has taken place there is the ability to work from home on a regular basis. Candidates should be willing to travel extensively, primarily within the UK, but with some international travel.
