Job Description

We are looking to recruit Mental Health Nurses to the two (2.0wte) new Practice Development Support Nurse (PDSN) posts that have recently become available. These new Practice Development Support Nurse posts offer an exciting (and seldom available) opportunity to join the Mental Health Practice Development Team working across six Health & Social Care Partnerships within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. As an integral member of the Mental Health Practice Development Nurse Team you will be line managed and professionally accountable to the Practice Development Nurse with responsibility for supporting the professional nursing workplan. The Mental Health Practice Development Support Nurse (PDSN) role operates across inpatient and community Mental Health Service areas within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and the six Health & Social Care Partnerships (HSCP). The PDSN will provide a clinically visible presence within inpatient and community mental health areas and will contribute to the improvement of quality care delivery in practice. They will undertake duties demonstrating a values based recovery focused approach to the delivery of compassionate, safe and effective person centred care. As delegated by the PDN, They will support the implementation of the Mental Health Professional Nursing plan, in line with local, Board, service and National policies and strategies. The PDSN post provides an exciting development opportunity for senior nurses to enhance project management, nurse leadership and practice development knowledge, skills and expertise as well as supporting mental health nurses in practice across a diverse range of services. It is essential you are a Registered Mental Health Nurse with demonstrable experience of mental health nursing practice. The hours of these posts re worked Monday to Friday 9,00am to 5.00pm.
