Job Description

The purpose of this role is responsible for leading, developing and co-ordinating practice development projects/initiatives and facilitating the management of change directed by organisational priorities. You will be responsible for facilitating the educational activities and the professional development of staff within the renal service and will ensure that practice development activity meets the specific needs of the clinical area. In addition you will be expected to function as a specialist practitioner by virtue of in depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience. You will provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient needs, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, which are evidence based. Utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others. You will provide a high quality safe and supportive environment to care for patients requiring highly dependent care for acute renal failure and specialist care of chronic kidney disease, renal replacement therapy and transplantation. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have substantial post registration experience. The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Sunday.
