Job Description

Residential Activity & Support Worker Could you be a positive role model who can build trusting relationships with children and young people aged 8-18? New Forest Care are looking to recruit dynamic Residential Support Workers who are committed to providing our young people with a safe and supportive environment in our homes based throughout the New Forest. We engage our young people through programmes of adventurous activity and form quick but meaningful relationships with them to support them in gaining positive life experiences and making positive choices. Our young people can be challenging and present with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ADHD and autism. Shift pattern: 44 or 51 hours per week - Shifts are 14.5 hours so you can expect to work between 3-4 shifts per week: Mon - Sun Salary banding: 18,425 - 24,544 DOE Enhancements to pay (Dependent on service worked in) 2000 to 7,500 per annum for sleep-ins (Sleep-ins are paid between 45 - 55) Purpose of the role * To act as a positive adult role model for our young people within our residential homes * To provide a safe and nurturing environment to support, advise and guide our young people to develop social, emotional and physical well-being; * To help them develop self-esteem, a feeling of safety and develop personal strategies to deal with unhelpful behaviour and thoughts, and ultimately to achieve their optimum potential. * To support and contribute to the smooth day to day running of all aspects in the home including finances * To provide consistent, high quality service that supports the assessed needs of residents and to advocate for their well being * To actively promote and engage in promoting creativity, openness and a strong team work ethic * To support a culture where people are valued and supported to make a difference to the lives of others Why work for us? * Staff bonus after 2 years service and subject to company performance * Commitment to high quality support and continued professional development * Readily available overtime * Staff referral bonus * Be part of a supportive staff group with the focus on team work, employee well-being and engagement, including annual team building events * High staff to child ratios and NO agency staff * All meals provided when on shift New Forest Care is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children and Young People, applicants must be willing to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including employment references and DBS check.
