Night Shift Support Worker - Children's Residential Care Can you be a positive role model who can build trusting relationships with young people? New Forest Care is a specialist childcare provider that works with challenging young people through long term residential placements in our care homes, where we promote a sense of family and encourage our staff team to promote activities and interests that support our young people to build self-esteem and emotional resilience through attachment. We are looking to recruit dynamic Night Support Workers who are committed to providing our young people with a safe and supportive environment in our homes based throughout the New Forest. Shifts 40 hours, two-week rota shift pattern; Week1: Mon, Tues, Sat & Sun Week2: Wed, Thurs & Fri Role Description * Guide and individually support young people in line with their individual needs * To take all reasonable care to safeguard young people and staff members * To remain awake and alert throughout the duration of the shift and work on own initiative and without direct supervision * To check at regular intervals throughout the night that all young people are present, taking care to maintain the young person's privacy * To respond to young people who need attention through the night for illness or other reasons and where necessary refer to the Senior Cover (and/or sleep-in staff where applicable) for advice and/or assistance * To provide assistance with pre-bedtime routines/activities and early morning routines where necessary and as directed by the day staff * To maintain the home in a clean and tidy condition and report any maintenance issues to the Home Manager/Senior Cover as well as completing the relevant report form Why work for us? * Rewarding and fulfilling work with the chance to make a difference to the lives of others * High standard of working environment - we have high quality registered Children's Homes and our school is rated by Ofsted as 'outstanding' in all areas * Be part of a supportive staff group with the focus on team work * High staff to child ratios and NO agency staff * CPD - Continuous Professional Development * Induction training and regular ongoing in-house training for all staff * Professional training pertinent to the position such as Child Care Diploma Level 3 training for all Child Care Workers (we are a registered Training & Assessment Centre) New Forest Care is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children and Young People, applicants must be willing to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including employment references and DBS check.
