Job Description Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract for Minimum 3 Months Hours: Flexible - Various Shift Patterns Available Salary: 10.75 per hour Your new role as a Food and Beverage Assistant will include the following duties: * Takes patient food orders and processes the information as appropriate. * Prepares the service areas with the necessary service equipment, crockery, serving utensils, condiments food etc. * Ensures that all foods, and fluids are served when required as per ward requirements and accurately recorded * Complies with instruction on portion control, presentation and recording all information relating to the service and checks all ward kitchen and departmental fridges for food safety compliance. * Assists in food preparation & production when required. Maintains high standards of hygiene and food handling. * Ensures all stores are correctly rotated, and used in date order, and any out of date products are disposed of in the correct manner. * Reports any safety deficiencies, incidents, near misses, ill health and environmental incidents to their manager. * Undertakes additional duties as required by their supervisor in line with capabilities. Qualifications * Food safety level 2 preferred, must be available to undertake mandatory training at short notice to comply with food safety * Prepared to work in a refrigerated environment. * Standing mostly with manual handling & some bending/stretching and heavy lifting required. * Has a good level of both written and spoken English skills with an excellent attention to detail Additional Information Health and Safety responsibilities: * Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times; * Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment; * Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received; * Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system; Information Security: * Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities; * Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager; * Report actual and suspected security incidents; Note: This job description Is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for this position and the range of duties undertaken. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder throughout the period of employment. The job description may be varied from time to time by the Company to reflect changes in the post holder's role and/or the needs of the business.
