Overview
Job Description
The overriding responsibility of the Steel Fabrications Estimator is to win value added and other profitable work on the best possible terms for the company with the help and support of your colleagues. Within this context your specific individual roles and responsibilities are seen to be: * Assessing enquiries sent into the Workshops office in conjunction with the Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC), the Workshops Team and Workshops Manager for suitability for Cementation to price. * Produce detailed estimates, including pricing of all necessary items and labour considerations for work / contract execution * Providing to the approving Workshops team an accurate appraisal of the client's requirements, summarising the points and identifying the risks and opportunities with the quotation / tender. * Liaising with the RWC and the client's designers to come up with workable solutions to potential risks that are economically viable * To seek opportunities to increase profitability of quotations / tenders We're Looking for: * Good engineering and steel fabrications knowledge with previous experience in an estimating role/shop floor. * Able to understand engineering drawings/Work Specifications - knowledge of CAD * Commercial awareness to maximise profitability and cash flow. * Computer literate - Microsoft packages, including specifically Excel (being able to set formulas, produce spreadsheets etc). * Current driving licence.
