Job Description
BIM Technician Job Summary To produce BIM/CAD outputs required for the development of the project complying with HS2 and Mace Dragados BIM and CAD requirements. To collaborate with any other project members (Mace Dragados, HS2, Supply chain, third parties or any other), in developing graphical outputs as well as extracting any information contained in the graphical model. This collaboration is even closer with Design, Construction, Temporary Works and Survey teams. To follow and enforce the implementation and use of Mace Dragados BIM Execution Plan policies for the production of information. To collaborate with the Information Management Team in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Information Use Cases. To support the development of project team technical competences using the BIM model. The BIM Technician reports to the CAD/BIM Manager. Key Responsibilities 1. Produce graphical data (3D, 2D, federated models, drawings, visualizations, etc.), GIS, documentation or asset data for Mace Dragados team for all the project phases from early design to handover. 2. Produce as-built, or any other graphical data required for the completion of the project. 3. Work with the Design, Temporary Works, Survey and Construction team in the production of graphical data for different purposes. 4. Support project members (Mace Dragados, HS2, Supply chain, third parties or any other) in meetings. 5. Follow CAD/BIM Manager instructions and support him in the production of graphical data and the coordination and control of the Supply Chain graphical production. 6. Produce or populate any piece of PIM information required graphical, non-graphical, GIS or documentation. 7. Produce visualisation or videos when required in support of the project team. 8. Support the Information Management Team in the production, implementation and maintenance of the BIM Execution Plan set of documents and other project documentation. 9. Support the Information Management Team in maintaining activities defined in the BIM Execution Plan set of documents. 10. Execute the transformation of graphical data between different software systems. 11. Support the Information Management team in implementing Information Use Cases. 12. Provide support to the CAD/BIM Manager in providing training to the Mace Dragados Team. Technical Competencies required Have good communication skills in English, both written and verbal and the ability to report clearly to its line manager · Understanding and working use of BS 1192:2007 · In-depth working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk BIM enabling applications (three years) and understanding AECOsim/OpenBuildings, Navigator platform and Bentley BIM enabling applications (one year). ; and/or In-depth working knowledge of AECOsim/OpenBuildings, Navigator platform and Bentley BIM enabling applications (three years), and understanding of Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk BIM enabling applications (one year). Qualifications, Certifications and Experience required Be educated to degree HNC or HND. · In-depth working knowledge of 3D modelling and 2D Drawing production. (5 years) · In-depth working knowledge of Projectwise. (Two years) · Computer skills - well developed IT skills including Office suit. · In-depth knowledge of BIM/CAD software. · Understanding of Clash detection and CAD/BIM coordination processes · Demonstrate significant experience of complex station/transport interchange infrastructure build and employment in management roles on projects of similar scope and scale, within the construction industry.
