Job Description
Functional Area: UW - Underwriting Estimated Travel Percentage (%): No Travel Relocation Provided: No AIG Europe S.A. (U.K. Branch) & American International Group UK Ltd Senior Marine Underwriter - Multinational Cargo Specialist Working in a team of Cargo Underwriters to contribute to the growth of the business by: working closely with the teams senior underwriters; assisting in the underwriting of new and renewal business; deliver technical support and programme administration on an assigned portfolio of Marine Cargo Multinational business including captive accounts; to develop and grow a book of cargo business; maintain and develop relationships with new and existing brokers; building client relationships; working to carry out agreed strategies. Accountabilities for the role: * Origination and transaction of business * Work within underwriting systems, limits and controls * Obtain all necessary technical underwriting information through liaison with the broker and or client * Liaise on technical service issues with appropriate departments to expedite resolution * Liaise with brokers, internal and external clients across UK and internationally to ensure quality and consistency of underwriting and service delivery * Liaise with claims and client / broker to establish Claims Reporting requirements for Major accounts * Regular liaison with Distribution and management teams to manage pipeline of account activity on a monthly basis. * Resolution of account queries and other insurance programme issues * To ensure that performance objectives are set and assessed against the relevant FCA TCF outcomes. * To carry out your accountabilities and objectives within the framework of AIG UK's TCF policy. Job Requirements - Strong communication/interpersonal skills - Strong analytical skills - Team player - Ability to prioritise and focus on targets & results - Works well under pressure - Good time management skills - ability to handle multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines - Ability to work on own initiative / Organised /Adaptable to change - Experience in a Commercial insurance environment / London Market - Computer literacy required: IT packages; MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
