Job title: Financial Controller Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 Location: Shepton Mallet, Somerset Reporting to: MD Hours: Full Time (flexible working possible) About our Client Our client is a well-established profitable B2B SME based just South of Shepton Mallet. They are looking to recruit a dynamic and emotionally intelligent Financial Controller to support the MD and Senior Leadership Team in providing timely and accurate financial information to assist with decision making. The Role Reporting to the MD and working closely with the management of the parent company, the successful candidate will be a key member of the SLT and the number 1 in finance. This is a full time role which requires experience of running and managing a small finance team with a broad range of responsibilities which include: * Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack * Presenting monthly results to the Board * Monitoring cash and preparing cash flow forecasts * Monitoring WIP by project to ensure accurate recording of costs and revenues * Producing&monitoring forecasts and budgets * Ongoing review of processes to improve efficiencies * Overseeing the payroll calculations and processing in a timely manner * Analysing financial data and developing reporting metrics * Performing monthly control account reconciliations * Preparation of VAT and P11Ds * Contributing to the Company's decision-making process * Management and development of a small finance team * Contributing to the development of business strategy and customer pricing * Cash/debt management and collection * Assisting with the preparation of Statutory Accounts and tax returns * Liaising with shareholders, external accountants and HMRC * Compliance with UK GAAP The Successful Applicant You will be a qualified finance professional with experience of managing a finance department and in developing financial controls, processes and reporting, ideally in a construction or engineering environment. Requirements include: * Preferred ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified accountant (QBE also considered) * A good understanding of project accounting and WIP * An inquiring analytical mind with strong Excel skills * Demonstrable experience implementing financial controls, processes and reporting * Good business acumen and diplomacy skills, with convincing communication skills and engaging personal style * Demonstrable leadership skills to mentor and support the finance team members * Ability to work effectively at speed and under pressure of deadlines, whilst maintaining attention to detail * Quickbooks experience desirable A rtemis Clarke Ltd acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
