Head of Medical Workforce The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire. We have been successful in embedding these values into the day to day approach to work within our staff, and these are: * Putting people first * Achieving excellence * Passionate about what we do * Always improving our care * Looking to the future Based in Wirral, Merseyside and supported by a radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree Hospital site in Liverpool, we also operate specialist chemotherapy clinics in five of Merseyside's district hospitals and deliver a pioneering Treatment at Home and Work service. In June 2020 we are expanding our expert services into central Liverpool as we open a brand new specialist cancer hospital. Based on the same thriving research and healthcare campus as the University of Liverpool and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the new hospital will ensure every patient has access to the most advanced treatments and clinical trials. Together, working across three sites and operating specialist chemotherapy clinics in four of Merseyside's district hospitals, we are able to deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies. We also deliver a pioneering Treatment at Home and Work service; are the only facility in the UK providing low-energy proton beam therapy to treat rare eye cancers and host the region's Teenage and Young Adult Unit, (supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust). Working with leading experts from The University of Liverpool and the Cancer Research UK Liverpool Cancer Trials Unit we strive to stay at the forefront of novel treatments and techniques to deliver more effective and personalised treatments than ever before. We are looking to appoint a Head of Medical Workforce to lead and coordinate all medical workforce related issues including; implementation of terms and conditions, education, training and appraisal and revalidation. You will work closely with the Medical Director and Clinical Directorates to ensure the provision of a consistent, professional and effective medical staffing service. As the Head of Medical Workforce in our Trust you will have the opportunity to work with highly engaged Executives and a fully supportive Chief Executive. The Medical Workforce function is truly seen as an integral part of our Trust. As the Head of Medical Workforce you will provide leadership to support workforce development solutions supporting the Trust with the implementation of our new clinical model and modernisation of our medical staffing service. To make an immediate impact, knowledge of medical workforce terms and conditions and educational requirements would be desirable, as well as some experience in interpretation and implementation of the 2016 contract, and Specialty Doctor Terms and Conditions of Service. You will need to demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills coupled with excellent organisational ability, the ability to prioritise your work and meet tight deadlines.
