The Business Analyst will be based in our London office and will be involved in supporting the scope definition and estimating, requirements gathering, solution development, functional design, QA & UAT testing, and end-user training on assigned projects that may span the full insurance life cycle, covering underwriting, and all aspects of policy administration The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills, be self-starting and independent in the delivery of assigned tasks and small projects. The candidate needs to be able to bridge the gap between the business, IT and our key Vendors in a rapidly changing environment. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary Duties * Work with the business and middle to upper management to define and fulfill the requirements for establishing the International Insurance division operational processes and systems for Delegated Binder business. * Supports the facilitation of software development through the SDLC phases of design, development, testing, and implementation of projects and maintenance and enhancement work for Product, Policy, Billing, Claims, and Broker systems. * Design and implement the Axis International internal processes for Master contract risk capture and management and their interface with external TPA systems / claims systems. * Assist and develop detailed business & systems requirements for new systems needed by new division. * Develop functional design documents for new systems and for enhancements to existing systems. * Develop implementation work and cost estimates in coordination with technology developers and solution architects. * Evaluate current parent company solutions to assess fit and integration into the International business and technology environment. * Participate in packaged system evaluation and selection. * Develop business cases for acquisition / upgrade of technology solutions. * Develop functional process maps and use cases. * Manage functional and end user testing * Other tasks as required REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Methodology, Tools & Techniques (Formal Skills) * 7-10+ years of business and systems analysis and design experience. * Solid London Insurance market experience specifically Delegated Underwriting Authority business, DA SATS etc * Has past experience developing and executing testing plans and tracking results. * Good documentation capabilities. Solution Analysis * Experience in defining and prioritizing business requirements and needs. * Experience developing business cases. * Experience in researching various solutions and doing solution alternatives analysis. Facilitation, Presentation and Interpersonal Skills * Able to facilitate meetings and workshops * Strong presentation skills (articulate, comprehensive slides, good follow through) * Good interpersonal skills (proactive behavior, consulting attitude, integrative personality, etc.) * Good organizational skills including ability to self-start own task assignments and to independently lead small projects. * Creative ability to define solutions and alternatives that meet business needs. * Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. * Strong detail-orientation. * Evidence of ability of working in a dynamic, flexible environment. Domain Knowledge * Solid end-to-end group insurance domain knowledge. * Knowledge of Lloyd's and Company processes * Ideally familiar with NEAG (DPP) documentation and PRA applications * Exposure to Lloyd's Minimum Standards (LMS) * Exposure to document management tools and solutions. * Demonstrable ability to fully understand business processes and business needs. * Good understanding of IT solutions and architecture (web services/SOA, integrated document management solutions, workflow, etc. * Familiarity with IRIS / Dynamics / Rulebook / SharePoint / Market Binder systems DA SATS etc
