Our Stroke Unit has maintained the 'A grade' in the latest Royal College of Physicians' Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) audit We are the home for the National Spinal Injuries centre, the birthplace of the Paralympics. Due to the existing post holder being relocated, a permanent specialist Dietitian post in spinal cord injury (31 hours per week) is vacant at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust based at the National Spinal Injuries Centre (NSIC) at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. You will join our thriving, 40 strong Nutrition and Dietetic department based in Buckinghamshire. We work from bases in Amersham, Stoke Mandeville (including National Spinal Injuries Centre) and Wycombe. This specialist spinal injuries post is ideal for existing Band 5 Dietitians wishing to move to the next stage of their career and gain experience in this exciting specialty or Band 6 Dietitians wishing to specialise in the field of spinal cord injury within our World renowned National Spinal Injuries Centre. This post provides an excellent opportunity for those wishing to obtain experience in a varied clinical post with opportunity to work with motivated patients, an inter-disciplinary team and involving many different specialties. This post offers a fantastic opportunity to gain a variety of skills across the spinal service: spinal injury, acute and rehab wards, complex nutrition support as well as clinical audit and research and innovation, with supervision and mentoring from the Lead Dietitian in Spinal Injuries. We actively encourage CPD, clinical supervision and participation in specialist teams to develop our service. The department has excellent secretarial and IT support and we also take dietetic students for B and C placements.
