The M&G Press Office is part of M&G's Corporate Affairs team. This role will be working closely with our award-winning team of investment professionals to support our UK wholesale investment management business and our large range of UK-domiciled OEIC mutual funds. This involves leading proactive promotion of M&G's Fund Managers, investment strategies, investment views and our investment brand in the UK online, print and broadcast media, including ESG and corporate governance issues. You will also support the communication of new product launches and changes to products, prices and Fund Managers to the media; and respond to media challenges and requests for information. This role is suited to an inhouse professional or possibly someone who is looking to make the transition from agency to an inhouse role. Manager or Expert: * For people managers, accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders * For technical specialists, accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise * Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk * Manages conflicts that may impact delivery * Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture * Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output * Manages resources and risks using expert judgment, know-how and experience Key Responsibilities : * Develop and execute strategic communications plan to support the UK mutual funds investment business * Manage the external agency team in supporting delivery of the plan * Proactively manage our relationships with key journalists and commentators on investment topics * Generate good ideas for news, features, opinion pieces, infographics, social media and multi media content * Be the principal contact for all incoming media inquiries and requests relating to UK OEICs and wholesale business * Represent Communications on change projects and announcements for our UK OEIC fund range You will have: * Proven experience at a Senior Manager/Leadership level within PR/Communications, preferably with wholesale experience * A strong knowledge of Mutual Funds and Unit Trusts (preferable) * Excellent judgement * Strong internal stakeholder influencing skills * Very sound media handling skills with a good, up to date network of media contacts in this sector * A team player seeking a busy in-house position with an agency-like feel * An interest in technical / complex topics or themes * Can-do and self-motivated approach to work * Ability to contextualise subject matters within the bigger picture Work Level: Manager or Expert Recruiter: Emma Pryde Closing Date: 15th June 2020 We live by four behaviours at M&G and we ask all our employees to: * Inspire Others - Support and encourage each other, creating an environment where everyone can contribute and succeed * Embrace Change - Be open to change, willing to be challenged and able to adapt quickly and imaginatively to new ideas * Deliver Results - Focus on outcomes, set high standards and deliver with energy and determination * Keep it Simple - Cut through complexity and bureaucracy, be clear and decisive and never overcomplicate things At M&G Diversity and Inclusion is a strategic objective.
