Job Description

The purpose of Compliance is to build confidence for today and tomorrow. Compliance participates in the prevention, detection and management of breaches of applicable laws, rules, regulations and procedures. Compliance has a key role in helping the firm to achieve the right outcomes and maintain a conduct-focused culture. In order to achieve this Compliance is focused on: delivering expert advice to protect the integrity of the financial system; challenging & collaborating with the business; and innovating our ways of working and thinking to deliver an effective risk management service to Barclays. What will you be doing? Assist the business to implement a consistent ABC framework which is aligned to Barclays Financial Crime policies; Maintaining a clear boundary and framework in accordance with the Group ABC policy, the Group Introducer policy and Standards, within which the Barclays business may operate; Accountability for identifying ABC trends and horizon risks through the close monitoring of Management Information, risk events and monitoring outcomes and raise these to the Senior ABC Management; Helping to drive progress across the Regions, to embed a financial crime compliance culture and ensure consistency of implementation; Assisting and when required leading ABC training and communication tasks; Staying up-to-date on anti-bribery and anti-corruption developments, both internal (Barclays Group) and external (regulatory, enforcement, best practice, industry); Assisting in the reviewing and maintaining up to date training and awareness programmes; Working with the ABC team to review and update policies; and Taking responsibility for the oversight of assigned ABC Projects. Along with other AVPs, managing the Regions helpdesk and collating monthly MI. What we're looking for: Proven technical expertise in the field of Financial Crime and, ideally, AB Proven experience of working across teams and able to contribute to the strategic direction of a business; Skilful co-ordination in working across a wide range of stakeholders both within and beyond the function; Excellent written and spoken communications skills; Skills that will help you in the role: Good understanding of the dynamics of large, complex organisations and matrix working; Good relationship and stakeholder management skills; Highly organised and structured; Experience of working within a highly regulated environment along with a good understanding of the current environment and key issue within financial services; Ability to work on own initiative and meet tight deadlines; and Some experience in delivering structured project and programme management. Where will you be working? This role will be based in the Aurora Building, 1 of our 3 modern City Centre locations until our exciting new campus location overlooking the River Clyde is opened in 2020.
