Role Overview As the Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist, reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, buying goods, materials and services to meet the procurement functions goals and to deliver cost effective solutions to meet STRYDE's operational objectives. What you will do: Work within a lean procurement team to own sourcing and identifying suppliers to suit strategic business needs Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials, explore alternate sources and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers Build relationships with suppliers and conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier's performance and compliance Purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that STRYDE's operational needs are met, taking into consideration cost, quality and delivery to ensure continuity of supply. Extensive experience in prioritising and organising work activities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within set deadlines and timelines Work collaboratively, negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement What we're looking for: Strong experience of strategic sourcing preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment Proven working experience, deep understanding and professional experience with purchasing and contracts Outstanding communication, analytical problem-solving abilities, coupled with good organisational skills with the ability to interact confidently with colleagues, customers and suppliers BSc/BA in business administration, supply chain management or relevant experience Membership of an appropriate professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) would be advantageous Proficient in Purchasing, MS word, excel spreadsheets, outlook, database software
