Major Healthcare is a specialist recruitment consultancy, providing quality permanent, contract and temporary staffing solutions to clients from our wide network of UK offices. We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapist to work as part of the multidisciplinary team in a specialist environment in Norwich. You will be working with young adults with learning disabilities and autism. Key Responsibilities * Provide an Occupational Therapy Service, which is run in an efficient manner so that students' needs are met effectively. * Assess the occupational, functional and sensory limitations of children within their academic and wider settings. * Write in-depth reports demonstrating clinical reasoning skills that are based on the analysis of findings from the assessments carried out. * Work collaboratively with the child, their support network, and other agencies, in order to effectively communicate the needs of the child and how these needs can be best met. * Deliver individualised interventions as outlined within the child's EHCP and identified through Occupational Therapy assessment. * Advise and source, where appropriate, specialist equipment believed to help address the occupational needs of the child or young person. * Liaise effectively with senior managers, SENCO and all teaching staff such that best practice is evidenced throughout the whole curriculum. * Accountable for the delivery of Occupational Therapy programmes by the relevant staff members, including Therapy and Teaching Assistants. * Provide professional support, leadership and supervision as appropriate to Occupational Therapy Assistants. * Provide Occupational Therapy training, support and advice to members of the multidisciplinary teams. The salary for this role is up £44,503 depending on experience. This is a 1 year maternity cover position and is only covering term time. Successful candidates must have: * A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). * Knowledge of Sensory Integration Theory and experience in delivering interventions based on Ayres Sensory Integration Theory. * Have at least two years' post-graduate experience working as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist. * Have experience working with children and young people with a range of neurodevelopmental needs. * Previous experience in an Occupational Therapist role, preferably with children and young adults. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including report writing. * Ability to design and develop individual treatment programmes.
