Senior Analyst ICIS Product & Data Analytics, a business division within ICIS, focuses on helping our international clients with multi-client projects. We have since grown rapidly with the addition of experienced hires in London, Singapore and Houston, and are looking to further bolster our resources in the UK. This role will contribute to the fast-growing Product & Data Analytics business through rigorous and systematic construction, maintenance & analysis of regional supply & demand fundamentals and market developments. The opportunity offers considerable career potential and ICIS Product & Data Analytics is looking for an enthusiast to carefully progress this opportunity and deliver excellent results to our clients. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, with extensive modelling experience and an ability to understand and appreciate market fundamentals and other key market developments pertaining to the oil & gas value chain, with a specific focus on the refining segment. An established knowledge of the refining / petrochemicals interface is highly recommended. The opportunity offers a competitive salary and considerable career potential. Key Responsibilities: Research into and analysis of the global oil & gas sector, with an emphasis on refining and petrochemicals feedstocks through the tracking of various ongoing project investments for ongoing contribution to the company database Forecast of demand / market fundamentals across a range of energy / refined products using well-established methodology and models Maintain long-term relationships with key clients to foster repeat and complementary business Participate & present at major industry events to network with potential clients Exercise thought leadership across the energy and refining sectors over the long term Experience required: Knowledge of the refining sector and market fundamentals, gained from demonstrable experience with a key industry player or other research / consultancy organisation Deep understanding around the shifting dynamics within the transportation segment and the impact on oil product supply / demand Degree in engineering or science discipline (preferably chemical engineering) with a Masters / MBA Key skills required: Proven experience of working in project teams and the ability to work effectively across culturally diverse teams Excellent analytical, verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills Ability to plan own work ensuring short- and medium-term objectives are met and projects are delivered within budget and on time Strong initiative and willingness to learn in an information business environment Skilled in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel & PowerPoint and willingness to learn new applications Strong knowledge of programming language (e.g. Python, C++, SQL) is highly desirable Advanced modelling capabilities Ability to present and communicate ideas and solutions to client Ability to rationalise, solve and communicate answers to complex problems ICIS is the world's largest petrochemical market information provider.
