THE ROLE As part of the ongoing growth of the business, Blackstone is seeking to recruit a motivated individual to join their European Core+ team in London as an Associate. Blackstone's European Core+ business currently totals more than $12 billion of AUM and is centered around Blackstone Property Partners Europe ("BPPE"), a diversified, open-ended fund which invests in real estate assets in major European gateway cities. Reporting to Rachana Vashi, a Managing Director overseeing the European Core+ business, the individual will be joining a small team dedicated to the ongoing management of the fund including the execution of fund transactions, client meetings / marketing, as well as general portfolio management and operations matters. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The successful individual will work closely with Blackstone's European acquisitions, asset management, capital markets, finance and investor relations and business development ("IRBD") teams on all aspects of the Core+ business including: * Actively assisting Blackstone's senior management team in executing the Core+ fund's strategy * Interfacing with internal counterparties including fund operations, accounting, legal, tax and compliance teams * Helping to articulate and implement the fund's investment and risk mitigation strategies with internal stakeholders * Actively supporting due diligence, tax structuring, debt, and hedging strategies as well as preparation of investor materials * Monitoring investment results and portfolio performance in relation to portfolio objectives Acquisitions & Asset Management * Assist in the execution of transactions / asset management initiatives to deliver enhanced fund performance * Advise transactions team on fund mandate and priorities * Actively assist in any co-investment processes * Monitor deal completion process * Review business plans, JV terms, and acquisition and asset management models * Monitor asset management initiatives, including disposals, relating to Core+ assets * Monitor acquisition pipeline and related funding needs * Maintain liquidity analysis and other fund models * Assist with sizing and issuance of capital call notices * Assist in the coordination of Core+ quarterly valuations with asset management and finance teams and external valuation advisors * Assist with fund level financings * In conjunction with finance team, coordinate compliance of fund and debt facility provisions * Work with asset management, finance and IRBD teams to implement procedures and systems for tracking operating and financial data for fund assets Business Development & Client Relations * Actively work with the IBRD team to help raise new equity from investors * In conjunction with the IRBD team, manage various reporting processes and assist with marketing requests and materials * Support client presentations and roadshows * Support all aspect of debt investor relations * Respond to requests from investors and their advisors QUALIFICATIONS: * Relevant work experience working within Real Estate * A willingness to work across multiple functional areas in a dynamic environment * The ability to work in team environments and develop/maintain internal and external relationships is critical * Strong analytical and financial skills, including a solid understanding of Excel, and attention to detail * Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, strong working knowledge of finance and accounting * A highly motivated individual able to work independently and manage numerous, conflicting priorities and requests * Presentation skills - with a proven track record of being able to deliver compelling and concise presentations, pitch books, information memorandums, and investment analysis * Experience in company valuation, financial modelling, and analysis * Experience working with senior investment and management professionals * Prior experience of conducting extensive due diligence of prospective investment opportunities * Prior experience in corporate finance work including executing debt or equity financing transactions is advantageous * Resourcefulness and thoroughness in conducting financial and valuation analytics * Superior communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write and communicate effectively * Multiple language skills are desirable * Proven
