As a DevOps Engineer you will be working within the Cloud Services Team, initially managing an AWS based big data analytics solution. You will be ambitious to drive the adoption of more services leveraging the benefits of public cloud, working alongside a dedicated team of developers and operations professionals to support policing with cutting edge technical solutions. We'd really welcome your application if: * You are a great team player, but can also work independently * You bring a wealth of ideas and enthusiasm * You understand how to build reliable and scalable services * You have experience developing and supporting cloud and on-premise infrastructure (including design, capacity planning, cost optimisation, deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting) * You have experience in using a software development methodology to manage infrastructure * You have experience with REST APIs and web services * You can manage a CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins or similar tooling * You have experience in orchestration / automation tools such as Cloud Formation, Ansible, Puppet etc. * You can manage a large Hadoop platform, including MapReduce, YARN, Impala, Spark, Solr, HBase etc. * You are a competent in coding / scripting * You have a detailed knowledge of information security within a public cloud environment The community we serve within the West Midlands is fantastically diverse.
