Job Description
The Sourcing Specialist supports the Unit Sourcing Manager in executing sourcing plans for a specific unit working closely together with local operations. He/she identifies local sourcing opportunities, manages supplier tenders, acts as contract owner for selected suppliers and manages related supplier relationships. He/she also supports individual customer projects with their specific needs and supports finding the optimal supplier set-up for these projects. Responsibilities and key activities This section includes the responsibilities and key activities that the Sourcing Specialist is either accountable for or responsible to execute. Responsibilities and key activities CUSTOMER PROJECTS * Defines source plans for customer projects and works closely with the project team to understand real customer needs * Runs Request for Quotations (RFQ) for customer project specific materials and negotiates contracts with suppliers for customer projects in support of and in collaboration with the project teams * Ensures adherence with the business specific sourcing policies and supports supplier selection by the project teams Main Duties to Include * Provision of support to tendering team to identify, and request quotations for local project material/labour packages. This process ensures accurate market pricing is used in tender returns. * Assist in processing quotations and help identify any questions arising from tender team with prospective suppliers. * Advise on prospective supplier selection referring tender team to current supplier suitability and compliance. * Provide conduit between tender team and prospective suppliers. * Assurance that tender process regarding these types of RFQ follow both corporate, and regional process guidelines. * Preparation of potential project sourcing plan. Post Order Support * Provision of support to project team to identify, and request quotations for local project material/labour packages. This process ensures accurate market pricing is gained post tender to allow for any deviations/changes. * Assist in processing quotations and help identify any questions arising from project team with prospective suppliers. * Advise on prospective supplier selection referring project team to current supplier suitability and compliance. * Support project team during supplier interviews and negotiations. This would include back to back regional contract negotiation where applicable. * Assist project team by supporting placement of supplier orders through team to ensure all corporate and regional policy is adhered to. * Reporting of pricing out comes following above process. Potential savings and non-savings recorded on project sourcing plan and recording on database. Duration of Project Support * Provision of Sourcing support to project team throughout project duration. * Support in any potential supplier issues during duration of project. * Regular sessions with project team to ensure sourcing plan is fully up to date, and accurately reflects current project position Supplier Support and Management * Full support to region in any potential supplier situations, or escalations that may arise during a project duration. * Post project supplier interviews and performance reviews. * Provision of conduit between supplier and KONE to ensure and maintain relationships. * Maintenance of regional preferred supplier database. General Duties * National responsibility for procurement process adherence and maintenance. * Regional responsibility and support in all sourcing activity that is non-project specific * National advisor on all procurement and sourcing related enquiries.
