Job Description
Description Shanco Contracts Ltd is an expanding privately owned Civil Engineering company based in Castleford, West Yorkshire. We provide specialist technical groundworks solutions across a wide range of sectors on a Nationwide basis. Due to an incredible period of growth and a stable order book, we are looking for a Freelance Quantity Surveyor to work a minimum of 3 days per week. Project sizes range from 10k to 2m, in this challenging role you will act as our company representative with the ability to interface with our customers and to secure the best interests of our business. This role is based mainly in our West Yorkshire Office but will also involve site visits at various locations throughout the UK. Requirements Commercially aware, you will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Civil Engineering /Groundworks. You will be proficient in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, programs and have a sound knowledge of the construction process. The role will involve working closely with our Commercial Director to ensure the projects are delivered to the financial targets set, as well as looking for opportunites during the course of the projects. We are looking to hear from enthusiastic candidates who can perform the following key tasks: Commercial management of individual projects incl preparation of interim applications & valuation and agreement of variations Final account agreements Cost/value reporting Client/project coordination meetings and liaising with site teams Assist with Tendering and Procurement Appointment and management of sub-contractors Benefits In return, you will recieve a competitive day rate, the potential for long term work with an immediate start.
