VAT Analyst

Job Description
The VAT Analyst will support the Indirect Tax Manager in the day to day management of Indirect tax returns and other compliance matters globally Key responsibilities Assist with the VAT compliance process so that Deliveroo always pays and collects the correct amount of VAT globally Preparing VAT compliance materials for external advisers including query resolutions to ensure accuracy of tax returns Liasing with external advisers to ensure no deadline is ever missed Identifying risk areas and reporting this to the VAT manager so that they can be prioritised and appropriate action can be taken to mitigate these Working closely with the AP team to raise tax awareness, improve process controls and review AP postings Build relationships across Deliveroo so that you can deliver tax audit responses when appropriate Work with the VAT Manager on ad-hoc projects Required key competencies A proactive and responsible attitude to workload, with a propensity to own the key duties of the role and strive for continuous improvement Ability to ask questions and seek better solutions when something doesn't look right A great team player with the confidence and ability to work autonomously when required Ability to work to tight deadlines and act decisively Adapt in liaising with advisers in countries and timezones across the world Attention to detail a must Resilient temperament to get to the bottom of issues, reconciliations etc Requirements Experience of VAT compliance in EMEA and APAC jurisdictions Relevant accounting experience CIMA, ACA, ACCA or similar credentials preferred Confidence and ability to interact with business stakeholders Excellent communication skills to non tax specialists Advanced Excel Previous exposure to NetSuite advantageous
