Job Description

Purpose Underwriting Modelling is the provision of Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management and Technical Pricing capabilities and expertise across the entities. The role of the Senior Pricing Developer is to provide programming support to Underwriting Modelling in deploying analytics tools. 2. Dimensions The role operates with the following dimensions: * Underwriting Modelling encompasses Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management and Technical Pricing Development and Oversight. 3. Key Result Areas Operations and Programming Support * Programme and develop technical pricing software applications and analytics tools as directed by the Development Manager. This will involve exposure to a wide range of classes of business. * Develop solutions to present management information. * Ensure model usage is maintained as required by Underwriting Management * Maintain and modify existing pricing applications to meet underwriters' changing needs and evolving market conditions. * Ensure that applications have a consistent look and feel, including the "MS Amlin brand", and that pricing applications are developed in accordance with the MS Amlin IT technical pricing application framework. * Ensure that pricing models are compliant with the Technical Pricing Framework. * Assist in providing training and support to users of technical pricing applications. * Take part in ad hoc project work as necessary. * Support the management of stakeholder communication and relationships both directly and indirectly. Best Practice * Follow MS Amlin's best practice for programming as developed with MS Amlin IT. * Work with other departments, including MS Amlin IT, to efficiently develop the required solutions. Development Community and Education * Provide programming advice and peer review to other members of the team. * Research evolving programming and modelling techniques and best practices. * Assist in fostering a Development Community across the entities and MS Amlin Functions. Documentation * Create and maintain suitable documentation for software systems and tools in line with MS Amlin best practices or as required under Solvency 2 or Lloyd's minimum standards. Compliance * Conduct the role in accordance with the Company's Business Ethics Policy and Lloyd's and other regulations. * Promote and ensure compliance with internal guidelines and procedures such as the Technical Pricing Framework and End User Computing where applicable. 4. Operating Environment MS Amlin Underwriting Modelling is a service provider delivering tailored support to the entities and Corporate Centre, through its Catastrophe Modelling, Technical Pricing and Exposure Management expertise and capabilities. A mathematical and programming background is essential to fulfilling the role's requirements. 5.
